Your System Is Your Digital Environment
What you need to know before getting a new system
So as you might know I just moved into my new villa here in Bali.
Finally got my studio set up. You’ll see it in my upcoming YouTube videos.
And even though I love the space, it still took me a month to feel fully settled.
It reminds me of something I tell people all the time:
Your Notion system is like your digital environment.
And just like moving into a new house or landing in a new country, it takes time to adjust.
You don’t land in a new city and expect to know where everything is on Day 1.
You give yourself at least two weeks to settle in.
To find the gym, your favorite coffee spot, the nearest supermarket.
Then maybe another two weeks to figure out your rhythm & routine.
It’s the same with systems.
Someone would buy a Notion template, like my Life OS…
And if it doesn’t immediately solve all of their problems or if there is something they have to learn, they just ignore it or ask for a refund.
That’s like walking into a new home and returning it because you didn’t like the couch placement.
It’s not broken. You just haven’t turned the house into a home yet.
So here’s the reframe:
Don’t expect your system to solve your problems on Day 1.
Expect to live in it.
Expect to adjust.
Expect to personalize it over time, the same way you would with a new home.
That’s when it becomes yours.
If you just downloaded Life OS or bought a new system, don’t rush it.
Sit with it.
Play around.
Make some tweaks.
Remove what you don’t need. Add what you do.
You’re not just plugging into a template.
You’re setting up your digital environment, same way you would with a physical one.
And the more you use it, the more you’ll start to see the patterns in how you think and work.
That’s when you can optimize.
This is what I help clients do with Notion.
It’s what we do inside my free Notion Wizards community.
It’s also why I included a free Notion course, because I want you to understand how to use Notion as your digital environment.
And if this is something you need help with, whether it’s building a system from scratch, personalizing my Life OS, or fixing your Frankenstein Notion monster… I can help.
Reply to this email what you need help with when it comes to Notion and I’ll get back to you with a solution.
Let’s turn your chaos into clarity.
