What happens when my calendar is empty
Managers fill their day. Makers clears theirs.
You know what’s underrated?
An empty calendar.
Not laziness.
Not lack of ambition.
But deliberate, structured space — just enough to think, build, and flow.
Today, I tapped into deep flow. The kind where you look up and three hours have passed, and it feels like 20 minutes. The kind where you solve a problem that’s been bothering you for months — not by grinding harder, but by finally creating the space to solve it.
For me, the problem was how to simplify and automate the Life OS time system — linking days to weeks, weeks to months, months to quarters — without requiring users to manually touch anything.
Before, you had to manually link the week. Now, with the right use of date properties and formulas, Notion knows what week you’re in. You click a button and it connects everything behind the scenes.
Future customers will never know about this problem because the dashboard just works, but I know about it and therefore I’m simplifying the Life OS to make the experience for all of you as frictionless and smooth as possible.
But I only cracked this because I wasn’t rushing between calls. My calendar was empty. My focus was full.
And that’s the lesson: if you’re a maker, you need margin. You need time to get lost in the thing you love — solving problems, creating systems, writing code, designing interfaces.
Managers fill their day. Makers clear theirs.
So here’s a challenge: clear one day this week. Make space. Block everything else. And focus on one meaningful problem you’ve been avoiding.
You might just solve it.
Focus on your ONE thing.

P.S. If you need 1-on-1 help building systems for your own life, content and business and then packaging those systems into digital products to monetize your audience and attract more leads over the next 3 months, I have 2 spots open in my mentorship program.
The spots for the DFY offer is already sold out but I still have capacity for 2 people who need a system and digital product expert to help them 1-on-1 through the process.
With this offer you get unlimited access to me and all my systems so I’m very selective of who I accept.
Reply “mentorship” and I’ll send you more details
