A few weeks ago I found myself thinking about nothing except thoughts.

My mind got so filled with noise that I just stopped and sat in silence for an hour because it was too much… and the noise disappeared.

So I made meditating 1h every morning as soon as I wake up the first thing I do. On average I’m doing it 4/7 days of the week so not perfect yet but getting there.

And the biggest thing I’ve learned so far from my experience doing it is that the mind is the most important system.

We obsess over systems for our business: dashboards, SOPs, automations, AI agents, Claude, Notion, this tool, that tool. And then we operate all of it from an overwhelmed mind with 20 tabs open.

What’s the point of having an AI Operating System where everything is in one place if your mind is scattered in multiple places lol?

This is why quieting the mind is so important because clarity drives action.

But clarity isn't a state you stumble into when you’ve finally finished everything on your to-do list (which will never happen btw). It's what's left when you deliberately block out all the inputs from the outside world so you can hear yourself (your real self).

The most ambitious founders I know are the worst at this because a moment of silence means you could be consuming a podcast or an audiobook on 2x speed and be learning. But this is the exact reason why your mind feels heavy and you can’t make clear decisions.

If your Notion workspace is messy with loose pages, unprocessed database entries, outdated templates and a confused team, of course the system isn’t going to work.

You can't outwork a noisy mind, and you can't outsource it either. This IS the work.

I'm not saying you need to meditate for an hour, but what I am suggesting is that you spend 1h per day alone with your own thoughts and not someone else’s. Maybe your version is just walking without your phone, or driving without music, or not watching YouTube while you eat.

The important thing here is to go on a mental cut every day to sharpen your most precious system, your mind.

Because the clarity it can produce is higher leverage than whatever your new AI tool for this week is.

No fluff. Just systems.
