A client asked me today a question that I keep hearing recently: should I use Notion or Claude for my Business OS?
These 2 tools do completely different things, and understanding the difference is probably the highest-leverage thing you can learn right now about AI.
Here's how I think about it.
Notion is your system. It's where you organize everything about your life, your content, and your business. Your SOPs, offers, goals, client information, team's tasks, finances, voice notes, knowledge library. All of that context lives in Notion with Notion adapting to you and your business.
Claude is your employee. It's where you go to get specific tasks done. Deep research, copywriting, code, building automations, solving focused problems. You give it a task with context and it delivers.
The mistake most people make is they try to use Claude as their system or Notion as just a to-do list without ever connecting it with AI.
The real power is when they work together.
I organize all my context, data and information about my life, content and business in Notion. Claude then uses this system with all the context inside, just like me or an employee, to then execute on the tasks I give it.
So the insight here is to build the system that organizes the context and automates the data, and then give Claude access.
Most business owners try to automate processes they haven't even defined yet and then wonder why it doesn’t work.
Start with systems, get your context organized, and get your business data & information into one system where everything can connect with each other. Then the AI you layer on top of it become 10x more powerful because they have something structured to work with.
You need both systems & AI, Notion & Claude. They work together.
No fluff. Just systems.
