Build an environment that optimizes your defaults

The biggest 80/20 lever you can pull

This past weekend, I moved into my new place here in Bali.

I will be locked in here for a whole year which I’m super excited about after a year of moving around.

For the first time in over a year and a half, I’ve got my own office. My own creative studio. My own space where I don’t have to pack up and reinvent my routine every few weeks.

And that changes everything.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

Most people think they need more motivation. Or more discipline. Or more time management hacks.
But the biggest 80/20 lever anyone can pull is their environment.

Your environment is either the friction that slows you down, or the structure that speeds you up.

After spending the past year sleeping in 10+ beds across multiple countries, I’ve felt this first-hand.

Every time I got momentum going—whether in content, products, or energy—some new external disruption would come along: a move, a visa run, an illness, a construction site next door. It all chipped away at consistency.

And without consistency?
Your ideas don’t land. Your systems don’t stick. Your confidence doesn’t grow.
Because your process and everything with it resets back to zero.

So this move is more than just a house. It’s a commitment to my future self.

It’s me removing the resistance.
It’s me making it harder not to create than to create.
It’s me designing a space where content isn’t a struggle—it’s the default.

Setting up my new studio is going to be a lot fun because I’m creating a space where my camera will always be set up, the lighting always dialed in, and my schedule built around focus.

Because when execution is automated, output becomes inevitable.

That’s what a great environment gives you:
Not more hours, but more access to your best self.
Not more pressure, but fewer excuses.
Not better habits, but a structure where the right actions happen almost automatically.

And this doesn’t just apply to physical spaces.
It’s the same in your business.

If you feel like you’re stuck or scattered—ask yourself:
Is it really you?
Or is it the system you’ve plugged yourself into?

Because when your environment is chaotic… your mind will mirror that.
But when your environment is clear, stable, optimized… your mind finally has room to build something real.

If you’re a business owner looking to scale without sacrificing your sanity, I want to help you build this kind of system.
